Queston about changin upper radiator hose on a leganza

Post by Man with no name »

Hey guys, kinda nub question

My upper radiator hose was leaky, so I replaced it today. All the coolant in the reservoir drained when I disconnected the hose, so I filled it up again. However, I couldn't find the radiator cap  seriously...where is it located? I wanted to run the car with it off and top if off at the radiator but since I couldn't find it, what I did was
run the car with the reservoir cap off and topped it off until the coolant level remained stable. Then I put the cap back on, waited some more, then carefully opened it and the level was the same.

After some 10 mins I checked the upper radiator hose and it was hot enough... The temp gauge reads just one bar below the middle...

Question is, will I be fine like this or should I locate the rad cap and top it off through there?

Thanks

You're good.

Daewoos only have 2 removable caps from the cooling system... the coolant tank and the petcock on the bottom of the radiator (for a full draining). You did it right :)

Wow glad to hear that :D Here I was getting ready for some nub trashing for not being able to find the rad cap.... well that makes me feel better about doing a full flush some time in the future..

For when I do the full coolant flush....since theres no rad cap, would I just fill it through the tank as well? And how would I make sure theres no air in the coolant system?

Thanks :)

When you do a flush and are ready to refill, pull one of the throttle hoses off... when it starts to push out there (car off, you filling the system), connect the hose and start the car. Leave the tank cap off though... it will spit all the rest of the air out there... just keep adding until it normalizes.

Sounds like the leganza dosen't have the "Min" and "Max" marks on the reservoir tank like the Lanos does ?
