Engine and Transmission mounts question

Post by mikedudley17 »

so i went down to the dealership to score some part numbers for the aveo motor and trans mounts. now i was under the understanding that the aveo has 2 motor mounts and one tranny mount. but the tech told me that there was only one motor mount and two tranny mounts.

then when i go to gmpartsdirect.com there are 2 engine mounts listed and thats it.

so can anyone please clarify this for me? that would be great! i need to get this straightened out so we can get some new mounts goin for the aveo.

btw my aveo is a 5 speed manual.

part # 96535499 is a trans mount
part # 96535431 is an engine mount
part # 96535402 is an engine connecting rod-this is the one that threw me off and the one i got from the dealership.

Hmmmm.... trying to remember.

There is the center motor mount near the passenger wheel, one mount for the tranny near the drivers wheel and one mount at the back near the center (if I remember correctly )

I think that the central mount is attached to the engine block.... but I can't remember.... it's pretty close to the location of the tranny.

If you have a manual tranny it might be on the engine and if you have an automatic it's possible that it might be on the tranny.

If I get a chance I will dig through my service manual and see if there is a difference between the manual and auto.

lanos is just like the Aveo so it got 3 mounts, one on the engine and two at the tranny side:

one tranny mount at the bottom of the fire wall just on the other side of the driver's feet (left hand drive)

the other tranny mount is under the battery

the engine mount is above the A/C compressor... will try to find a good pic of it

i dont normally try to be a pain in the ass like this but i really dont want to order unneccessary parts.

If the 2000~2002 Lanos mounts and tranny mount are the same as your (what year) Aveo ?

Why not save some money and get em at AutoZone ?
They list two Lanos motor mounts, a 'front' and a 'rear' and one Lanos "transmission mount".
A-Z also requires you specify if your car is an automatic or manual transmission.

i am not sure if the motor and mounts and such are the same as the lanos, i know it is close if not the same as the kalos but not sure about the lanos. i may go to a-z tho and give it a shot. thanks for the suggestion.

but does anyone else know what i need for sure??? if the mounts are the same as the lanos then the lanos people will benefit from this as well...aftermarket mounts can make a world of difference for ur car lol. thanks again guys for all the help thus far and any continuing help u guys may give!
