Is it me, or is does there tend to be more favorable opinions on Daewoos in Europe than in the States? Ive read some Euro reviews that treat the cars fairly decently, but any reviews from the U.S treat them like utter crap

Not sure about reviews, but people have the same crappy attitudes toward daewoos overe here in Ireland.
They see them as the company that went bankrupt, so how could they ever do anything right?

When infact they're GM and most of the parts are pretty much the same as most Vauxhalls over here, a lot of people havent caught onto that yet here.

People here are like that too. They're driving around in Saturn Sky's which are Vauxhalls and Chevy Aveos and when they see a Daewoo they talk about how crappy they are. when in reality they are driving cars either derived from or rebadged from the same companies they talk about being crappy. If they only knew how idiotic they sound.

hmm interesting... Like everyone above, most people think of it as crap, unknowing that many of the cars you see today are Daewoo rebadged...

a lot of people i've met know its actualy an old astra and give it respect for that... then you get the air-heads who dont have a clue about cars and say "Dae-what?"

someone once asked me if mine's a 2 litre... he said it sounds like it... "yea mate, its called a cone filter... it makes even a 1.0 litre sound like a scooby turbo!" lol

Haha, I'm just glad the scum bags where I live don't know they're based on mk2 astras, or they would have a field day stealing mine and my friends... Thankfully they're garaged atm farrrr away from here lol

Also, being a daewoo, the local scum look and go 'What would i want a dae-a-wooo for?'

So it has it's perks, along with being a gorgeous car ^^
