Aveo compatibility

Post by rkarl89203 »

Is there any sort of publication on which parts of a Lanos 2001 and Chevy Aveo are interchangeable?

in the interest of time it usually is best to lay the 'cards on the table' and ask what you are looking for. know one has compiled a complete list but it's pretty inderstood that all the engine parts are interchangeable (as far as mounting), some parts are better than others between the two.

what did you have in mind?

Having just purchased a 2001 Lanos i was just curious......

So far I have replaced the timing belt, just in case, and was just curious if there was a comprehensive list or publication regarding interchangeability of parts....

Not looking for anything specific....

thanks for the reply

that's a good move on the timing belt.

for the most part everything is the same and the lanos parts for the most parts are cheaperbecause they have been out longer.

usually 1.6 owners want the aluminum intake manifold from the lanos and the aluminum stat housing from a few of the lanos and some of the aveo. both interchanges are to upgrade from plastic pieces.

other then that they are part for part the same motor.

there was a post just a while ago from 'Audacity' about the lanos rods being forged but i didn't see if that included the aveo also so that may turn into an upgrade option in the future if the aveo uses cast rods.

accually garret its the aveo rods that are stated as forged not lanos, but if they are the same rods then they are both forged http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9602
