Only thing I can say is good luck cause once the light is out it can't read a code...

I did experience something similar though...it was caused by bad gas...my engine was misfiring and the cel would come on...by the time I got to advance it would be off...the guy there guessed it was bad gas and told me to buy some gas treatment and watch when the light came on and note where I had bought gas at...Turns out everytime I bought gas at the station next to my college campus the light came on...The gas treatment is just to get any water that might be in the tank out...

hope yours could be that simple.

since your car is OBD II they can read the code, even if the light is off at the time. it is stored in the memory of the ecu. so just go get it scanned

That's what I thought to...but evidently if the light doesn't stay on for a certain period then the computer in our cars throws the code out cause I scanned mine after the light came on for a bit and had no code stored.

the car has to be turned on and off (dont quote me on this) like 50 times before it clears the stored codes.

I know that's what everyone tells me but when I did this I was coming home from work and the light came on for maybe a mile or two and went back off...I stopped in at advance and had the codes read and it came up with nothing. It took me doing that like ten times before it finally registered a code for cylinder three misfire.

Well gay autozone wont scan it unless the lihht is on.... I HAVE NO CLUE WHY.

I do however have some new info. It only comes on when i start the car with the a/c on or shut it off with the a/c on. What in the world could that mean lol?

The 30 dollar OBD 2 code reader........

Post by Spider »

.........gave me the same code that AutoZones $130.00 (usd) one did.
(At AutoZone I had to 'buy'/put the code reader on my credit card, go out to the 105 degree parking lot, kneel in the melting blacktop, read my code, bring the reader back in the store and wait in line 10 minutes for them to credit the 'return' back to my account.)
[I do appreciate their service though... ;) ]

The only difference ?
The AutoZone code reader :

1) give me the code number. (forgot what it was now)
2) crawled the message..: "misfire on cyl #3" across the bottom of the screen.

My 30 dollar E-bay code reader gave the same code but did not crawl the message (I had to look it up in the provided manual)

Hope this helps ?

:)

P.S. I did have a bad plug wire on #3, replaced the whole set, with a new AutoZone set.

Ok the code was PO342.

It says that the voltage signal from camshaft position sensor "A" is too low for the current engine operating conditions.

Im thinking its the cam shaft sensor but idk.

What do you guys think?

you guys have shitty autozones in your area's. all of the ones near me will check it for free, them selfs even if the light is off. thats what they are suposed to do, if they say you need the light to be on or that they cant scan a daewoo, tell them they are full of shit and to get their ass's out there and scan your damn daewoo! but yeah that sounds like it could be a bad cam sensor.

if its lights op briefly and then goes out again, it has no significance based on the manual.
