This past weekend I pulled the spark plugs because the car was misfiring. I found the spark plugs somewhat covered in oil. I cleaned them, put them back in and car cranks and runs smoothly for about 30 seconds, obviously some of the plugs stop working when they get covered in oil. I looked up the valve cover gasket and from what I saw it is supposed to seal around the plugs from oil.
Can someone confirm this, because this is the first car Ive seen where the valve cover gasket also seals the plugs from getting oil.
Also, where can I buy a valve cover gasket?
Thanks a lot.

Yes, it does seal the plugs. Yes it is a common failure.
