Back on topic............ that track looks great..... I think Colorado is defnitly a good choice for a meeting ground.

Once you find out how much it is to book the track, we can figure something out for next year's North West meeting.

Ideally it should be on a long weekend..... ideally a Saturday so people have time to travel.

The track might be more money on the weekend..... especially a long weekend.... but if there are enough of us and some sponorship it could turn out to be decently priced.

The weekday thing might work as well... perhaps a thursday..... but it would be nice to work it in with a long weekend so that we only have to take three or four days worth of holidays.

Of course we would have to find out the rules and requirements well in advance to make sure everyone has their car up to technical specs before heading out.

Hell.... I'd be tempted to bring down a few cars on a trailer if the timing was right.

Do you think it would be possible to set up some drag racing as well as the normal track???

Even if it cost a couple hundred more to get a couple people down to control the lights and do tech inspection I think it would be worth it.

We could run the track during the day and run the drags at night when it cools down a little.

OFF TOPIC: the one thing i've learned about the honda guys is that because there parts are sooo easy to get that they just buy at random.

they don't really having to do any research to find out why they need the part or what it really does or the damage the new performance parts will do the rest of the stock motor.

everyone that says that honda is too well supported is right, but that is a double edged sward.

we have almost no support in that States and Canada but that means we have to really know what we are doing before we can just bolt up some cheap turbo kit just because it's available.

if some one starts offering a turbo "kit" for one of our cars then you can be assured it will be someone from this forum and not some generic manufacturer.

long story short we make each other 'highly experienced techs' by the topics we post, we know what are motors need because of the support of this forum. the average honda guy doesn't go to a forum 'til they melt down their motor and want a cheap and easy way to get running again.

ON TOPIC: i'll look through a calender today, make some calls to the track reps and see what i can find out, i'll post something if i get anywhere with it.

well iv'e been looking into renting the road course for a day and it's not too cheap.

the total would be about $4000 for a day which would include insurance for the drivers and the track, ambulance, concession and everything else that goes along.

that would mean that if we could get 100 that would be $40 a car, 75 cars is $55, 50 cars would be $80 a car so the more the merrier!

lets hear what you guys think.

Even with 25ppl, at 160 it's cheap. I usually pay $300 for 2hrs 40mins of track time through out a weekend, and it almost always gets cut 10-20mins short. We could spend 5hrs on the track if we rent it out, correct?

What about corner workers? We could always do it...but thats going to be a long freakin day if we being corner workers or tracking all day long

we can do volentier corner work in shifts or see they could help out with that.

really we could have it even longer then 5 hours cause the drag strip is lit up at night. we could run the course all day and drag till about 11.

Is there any chance we could do a bit of the roadcourse at night? I've always wanted to do that...

Is that $4000 for a weekday or weekend???

I don't think it's unreasonable.... I'll pledge $1000 towards "sponsorship" of the event in the name of Daewootech.com

Efrain had some daewootech shirts made a while back..... I kind of forgot about it.... he wanted me to get some sent up to me to see the quality.

Ideally.... it would be nice to set this up for sometime next year so that everyone can make plans to come down.

Perhaps we can even work something out to Efrain here...... and ideally get some Daewootech.com merchandise made up.

Once last option is to include another club (such as a honda club) to decrease the cost even more.

We could switch off doing corner work when they are on the track and they could do it for us.

Just an idea...... but it would be nice to kick some honda ass around the track :)

ya this is being panned for a Saturday next year.

i'm the one doing the daewootech t's i'd be glad to send you one. i've been trying to send one to Efrain but i can't get his address.

i has thinking of that earlier, the honda vs. Daewoo thing, but some good points were made about the honda guys and magazine coverage and it's not too promising.

instead what if we invited other Korean car club like Hyundai or something?

hell my santa fe will give you a run for your money. yeah right. i need to do something to her tho. probably go the bling way with it. nothing too glam but some rims and intake and exhaust. but anyways. i should be able to make it. once a date is set. by then the woo should be good to go if it'll be next year sometime. hopefully have my $40k loans paid off too so it'll be hooked up to beat anything out there.

You can allways send me one to check it out... then I will send it to Efrain.

The other T-shirts were from that internet company that will make your shirt on demand and send a couple bucks to the registered people. (can't remember the name of it )

Somebody suggested it last year as a way to support the site.

So if you buy a T-Shirt from one of these places they are about $20 (I think ) and $2 would go back to Efrain or myself (depending on how Efrain was going to set it up )

well things are starting to come together for next years event.

it looks like it will be a Daewoo/Hyundai/Kia event. Hyundai and Kia are being added to up the attendance and help lower the cost. being as Hyundai and Kia are still being produced we can got the dealerships for sponsorships and we will likely have dealer cars on hand as incentive to the dealers.

in addition to the road course event ($75 in advance $90 day of) there will be a show-and-shine which will be $20 in advance and $30 the day of. of course if you buy track time you can participate in the show-and-shine.

if you buy track time, you will get four personal tickets for every one car. if you do the show-and-shine only you will get two personal tickets for every one car. every person after will be $5 in advance and $7 at the gate.

weather we include a night time drag event or if we continue the road course event into the night is still being discussed with the track officials.
  • just for a price example: two cars for the track and ten people in advance would be $160 for the day. for the same attendants the day of will be $194
if the insurance can come down and the sponsors get behind the event the the the cost will come down and tickets paid for in advance at a higher price will be reimbursed the day of (with a receipt).
