This is the only valve I see,but it says H on it. Shouldnt it be L ? Is it just the wrong cap,or is there another location ?

And the pipe is the one with the rubber sleeve around it here :

No its not its kinda under the air intake. thats the high pressure point . look for the black cap thats the low and thats where you want to charge it

Oh ok,I saw a black one tucked away down there under the intake tub but I couldn't see where that pipe led to,and the cap was a different type than the green one.

Not sure if there's a problem with it. Checked pressure first with the gauge,no pressure. Started engine running,a/c on full like it said to do. Started charging it and the pressure was going up to about 30psi. Then the pressure started going down and i noticed a hissing noise coming from the area of the radiator on the passenger side, couldn't pinpoint it exactly. I was only doing it for about a minute, and then I decided to stop in case it wasted all the refrigerant.
The instructions said it takes about 10 - 15 minutes to charge it up,but that initial rise then fall in pressure along with the hissing noise didnt seem right.
Is it normal for the pressure to do that, rise quickly initially then drop? I hope its not a leak,I don't know where the hell its coming from if it is,and can't afford to get it looked at.

It is a leak ! whoever did your engine job could be responsible. If there ever is a "next-time" ?
Have them leave the lines connected to the compressor and tie/bungee the whole unit out of the way. (a great tip from Daewooluver)

You may have a crack in a line or a leak someplace where the line bolts to the compressor.
Might just be a fitting thats loose or a bad O-ring.
I'm not an A/C expert so if this was my car? I would take it to a reputable A/C shop.
I bet they would check it with a "sniffer" for a very reasonable amount of cash. That way you can pin-point the problem and probably DYI. Some places will extend you credit too. It way to hot to not have A/C now. I know, I live in the same climate you do.

p.s. good work on the belt !

Reputable shop that works on cars, haha, good one :) This is Vegas, they're all a bunch of f'ing crooks here, LOL.
I'll try and pinpoint the leak myself first, not sure how but I'll try. The thing is ,the only way I can hear the leak is while the stuff is being pumped in to the system, which means, god only knows how much of that I'm going to have to waste just to find it. Aghhh. I'll probably end up spending as much as taking it to get it diagnosed at a shop. Nice catch 22 situation there.
If I get no luck I might just put up with the heat for the rest of the summer,I've put up with it this far.

Well I think I've found the leak. You know how there's like two radiators at the front, well the leak is coming from the front one(condenser?),I can feel it when i put my hand in front of it as I'm putting some of the refrigerant in there, and it feels cold.So I guess thats what needs to be replaced, unless it can be sealed. I'd rather not have to spring $200 for a new one. Are there any recommended sealer products I can use,and what not to use? It does not feel like a big leak,(but obviously big enough for the cold air to escape) so maybe it can be sealed.
