Story is my friend moved out to California and left me his Daewoo, since he didn't want to take that AND his Mustang with him. The car needed some love. It wasn't running well, and the check engine light kept coming on. Checked the codes and it was throwing two different fuel system errors. I had suspected the whole time that it was either the fuel pump itself or a hole in the fuel lines. Once I cleared the codes, the car wouldn't even turn over. I disconnected the fuel pump, ran a seperate hose from the pump into a gas can and tried running it. Now, I've never dealt with a Daewoo before, but I'm pretty sure that the pressure coming out of the fuel pump is supposed to me more than just a trickle. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this. The rest of the engine seems to operate just fine.
I've been looking for a fuel pump for a week and a half now. I've called 14 companies that supposedly stock the OEM pump, but they're all on backorder with the manufacturer. I've even called the OEM supplier myself and they say they have no idea when they'll be able to ship out the part. I've had no luck finding one anywhere else, either (OEM or aftermarket). Can anybody here help me out? Where would I find one?
She's a cute little car, compared to what I got rid of for her. My old car was a 95 Chevy Beretta, and it was pink, had no AC, puddled in the floorboards every time it rained, rusted on the ground, and smoked like a chimney. So this car is an upgrade
