NEED HELP: Installing Immobiliser/Alarm/Keyless Entry

Yesterday I installed a new CD player in Daewoo Lanos (I'll post up some pics later)

This is girlfriends car, but we both use it.

Today I bought an immobiliser/alarm/keyless entry
I have a 2000 1.5L X Series Lanos (Australian)

Now the main reason I bought the immobiliser/alarm/keyless for this is my girlfriend wants a 'beep beep' (So she can use the keyless entry via remote).

Anyhow, I'm pretty good with electronics as it is, Just no good with cars :-P

I'm thinking I might get the immobiliser to use the existing killswitch (still havnt consulted girlfrind about that)
The existing killswitch works via the the fuel pump (so car still tries to start), would I be better off using it via ignition switch (as recommended) - And why?.

For the master controller (with Aerial) for remote, I'm currently thinking i'll put near the hand brake (where the stock one belongs)... ideas?

Quick note: I've had a quick look in the drivers door trim, I couldnt find a motor, got one for free, and i'm thinking i'll connect the bracket to the window actuators... not sure if it will fit behind trim there, I will have a look at a few other pics on here and see what members have done.

OK, Today the work began, The door trim was removed, door actuator installed (driver door)...

I ran into my first problem: Getting the wires through the plastic piece under the gromet.
Solution: Break it.

After having issues breaking it (limited tools), I then went to a friends house and he broke it

Now I should have enough room to fit the 5/6 wires through...

what i did to run the wires through (i did power windows on my lanos) is i drilled holes in the white plastic piece, it works nice and it looks factory with the rubber boot over it.

How did you manage that? Using the drill under the dash or take the door off? I was thinking that, but didnt have room for the drill.

This is our everyday car, So everytime I take a break I need to be able to drive it

Anyhow, Its only the bottom half that has been broken in the plastic clip, so the wires run under it, and the rubber seal still fits over the top half.

Anyhow, Know I have to find where the wires go through under the bonnet (hood).

well since my car is a base line lanos s it only had speaker wire going into the door. i unplugged the door end of the wire plug and cut that end off. i then worked the car side of the plug out of the hole and cut the plug off of the wires. once you have it off of the car you cna drill it. i then spliced in a piece of speaker wire to make the oem wire longer and ran it through the hole i just drilled. since i have aftermarket speakers in my front doors (Polk 6.5" componants) i just connected the new speaker wire to those and im all set.

Ahh that sounds easy... but we couldnt unclip it (shhh... we didnt know it was a clip til we got it off.)

Anyhow... a day of hassles today, its 2:11am and just finished (allthough we didnt start until late)

MOST of the wiring work is done (YAY!), the actuators had to be moved about 943543543 times due to them not fitting properly under the trim, anyhow my girlfriend drilled one hole in the door (the first time shes ever used a drill, but yet a great job) for a small bolt and used one of the holes default in the door (to fit the actuator onto)

Anyhow, Finally I have it all perfect! I put the trim back on & we (me and girlfriend) go for a drive.... I forgot to take a damn photo! anyhow... gf forgot to put a plug back in which held up the wires in the door, so we had to take it back off and I got pics

Forgive me for them being a little blurry - I took the photos from my mobile phone (cell phone) and it was late and cold!

Anyhow, The keyless entry w/ central locking is all working now!

STAGE ONE COMPLETE

Oh! and I think its important to upload the pics just incase anyone with the same car needs to put one in... thats the only place I could get it to fit in my door.

EDIT:
I should also note that I connected the two brown wires (for the blinkers) to the plug in the dash behind the warning lights (hazards)

Ok, Today I installed the alarm - I mean the actual bit that makes noise...

I still have a fair bit left to do...

For the alarm to be complete I need to add the sensor, brake pedal, accessorys, emergency switch & doors to the circuit. (possibly others)

Anyhow... I have TAFE (College) tomorrow so I probably wont get anything done tonight.

Hmm for the door triggers does anyone know where I can find something (so I dont have to take off trim)...

I know the front drivers door works into the chime, but the other doors are blocked by the diode

... does anyone know where this diode is located?

otherwise, I will have to look for the white wire into the cluster... I'd prefer to replace the diode though

are you talking about the sensor to let the alarm system know if the door is opened? if so all you need to do is remove the lower plastic piece of the center pillar (the piece just behind the door) and get the wire that connects to the little switch thats on the door sill.you can use any door, it makes no difference (trust me, i did my own alarm system too)

this is where the wire should be

Anyhow, I currently have it connected to the chime plug, Notice Diode D8... This diode blocks the other doors so the charm only works for drivers door.. maybe your setup is a little different...

My idea was to remove the diode... But saying what you said made me realise if I hook it up to the passengers door (im in Aus, so we have a right hand drive (diagram refers to left hand drive)), it should work, as the passenger door isnt restricted by the diode....

One other thing... What will I have to remove to put the wire through? just thr trim on the floor? and how do I remove it? (I havnt really looked but didnt see any screws... anything holding it in?)

well if your car has 4 doors, you only need to open both doors, and the trim piece just sort of wraps around the center pillar, it can be a PITA to get off but be patient and just pull carefully, there are no screws in it.
