Yes I know I can get into the 14's with my power, but I really don't want to break another transmission. ET is really just an indicator of how well you launch. Trap speed shows your real power. Also as I mentioned before, I had alot of extra weight in my car.

Kinky: My 60' time is shown in the time slip picture. What was your trap speed?

Also what was Nubira 2.2's trap speed?

hi to everyone

seeing the timeslip and the video
it seems the car is running ok
due to the mild acceleration

u did 72.4 mph in the 1/8 mile i did 74.5 mph
but your car did 94.3 in the 1/4 mile i did 93.9
which means ur car was acceleratin faster

if u manage to do 2.2 in the 60´
u will do more than 74mph in the 1/8 and over 96mph in the 1/4
i think your car is in the low 14 high 13
and if you lose the extra weight in 13 sec for sure

Yeah I know I could have done better both ET and MPH if I was more aggressive with the launch and shifting. Also this is the only track around here for me, and most people say they get lower numbers than equivalent cars on USA tracks. Really in the end I'm not that concerned with my track numbers, I just want the car to be fun to drive.

Wastegate malfunction

Post by exist3nce »

Anyone ever seen this? I noticed that some sound was coming out of my wastegate dump tube even when I was not boosting. I thought maybe an exhaust leak, but it gradually got worse throughout the day, getting louder and louder. We put it on the hoist and confirmed it was the WG. I took it off and took it apart, and it seems that one of the screws that hold the top diaphragm section to the bottom part had backed out and was preventing the WG from closing.

Never heard of such a thing happening...

that's weird...I've never heard of it either...maybe it's a flaw...did you ask the company that made it if there was a known flaw or if they knew how to permanately fix it?

New Dynomax Muffler

Post by exist3nce »

Lately there has been alot of heat here for modded cars, so I've decided to put on a quieter muffler. 3" Dynomax Super Turbo to replace my 2.25" Magnaflow. It is quieter because it is not straight thru, but the 3" inlet/outlet makes up for that. It has been tested to flow about the same as a 2.5" straight thru muffler. Also this muffler looks alot closer to stock, so now my car is even more stealth :D

Heres the old Magnaflow 2.25":

Still here!

Post by exist3nce »

I know there hasn't been much new lately with my project, but I haven't had very much money over the summer. That is starting to change now, so there should be come new stuff coming soon.

Heres the things I would like to do in the coming months:

6 Spd F28 swap
KW coilovers
BMS sway bars

also since winter is coming..............need some snow tires :?

Aside from that, the car has been running great with just maintenance such as oil changes etc. Couple small issues like exhaust leak, but I removed the manifold and turbo and flattened out the flanges and re-sealed everything. Also couple small cracks in the manifold, which I got my buddy to TIG weld them.
