Fuel injector cleaning

Post by modem_over »

OK, i recently got some really bad gas.. like slimy and didnt evaporate stuff. After dropping the fuel tank and washing it and replacing the fuel filter i am almost back up to fullperformance out of my 2.0 (t20get) Now i need to clean my injectors. Is taking it to walmart and getting a fuel injecton treatment gonna be good enufgh ? if i gotta pull the injectors and hand clean how is that done ( the cleaning i can pull the easy enufgh)

there are some shops where can provide a service of cleaning the injectors using the ultrasonic, this takes 10 min and most effective and cleans everything inside the injectors..i did that once here in egypt and costed me about 120 egyptian pounds, so i think it wouldnt cost more than 20$ anywhere else.

I work at a walmart TLE, what they do is they have this lil machine, thats underpressure, and they put it into the pcv hose, to the intake .. and it forces the cleaner through the injectors and then they put some gas injector cleaner in the gas tank also.. it may be an improvement.. for under $20 make sure you have a full tank of good gas before you get it done,so they can add it to the gas tank. They use the GUMOUT High concentrated products.
Ive used it and i have seen a good 2mpg increase. some ppl more, and some people doesnt even notice a diffrence, but with your case, i dont think it wouldn't hurt is as bad as not getting it done, it takes about 15-40 mintues once they get it started.

A bottle or two of Seafoam should do the trick.

But I'm sure you can find original or very similar fuel injectors at your local junkyard for the price of some pants with cargo pockets.
