First, I want to thank all the valuable comments and advise on my last topic, they were really helpful. My car is Daewoo 2000 Lanos with about 90K, there is a loud ODD noise from near T-belt area. Today I took the car to the nearest car shop (Walts), and they took an hour to find out what the problem is, and after they start my car, the noise became worse and louder (I don't know what they did), and they shut it down right away. After that, they told me that the timing belt teeth are bad. They gave me an estimate of $700 US dollars to fix it (Timing belt, water pump, etc).
BUT they don't know if valves are bent or not. If valves are bent, it will cost me additional $1500. They told me that 75% chance the valves are good since the engine was shut down while was running with bad noise, but they won't be able to find out if valves are bent without replacing a new T-belt and water pump. HERE is the problem, I don't mind spending $700 to fix it, but if they find bent valves, it's gonna cost me extra $1500, which is definitely not worth it. Honestly, I do NOT want to gamble it.
I live in western Washington State. I tried to look for someone who is familiar with daewoo, but just couldn't find one, and the dealership is a little bit far from my home. I have been driving this car for almost 4 years, and have been taking very good care of it. I am thinking to sell this car without fixing it, but don't know how much I can get it back.
