Ok where do I start..... The water pump on the car froze up the timing belt snapped....bent 8 valves so i had the head rebuilt i installed the head did the timing new idler pully tensioner pully water pump timing belt serp belt ac belt spark plugs got it all together did a compression check and it looked good....go to start the car and it will not run confused why yes i was...check fuel pressure thats good getting fuel on the pistons check for spark #2 on the coil pack wasnt always firing so i replaced the coil pack still doesnt run.....at this point im very agitated so i keep trying things unhooking sensors and such and finally the starter went out so i think ok maybe a grounding issue....i check the grounds put in a new starter and it still will not run except it now will run for a few seconds as i am turning the key however it will not run the whole time i am turning the key and also if i stop turning the key it does not run....any ideas would be greatly appreciated....my thoughts right now are the idle control sensor or pcv valve im thinking but then again im at a complete loss

ok thats what i thought thats why its got coil pack not a distributor cap....ok so i checked i do have the line to the intake manifold its running out of the power brake booster so hopefully someone else has a thought of why its not running....like i said when turning the key it fires and it runs for a few seconds but when the key is not turned to crank it the car doesnt run other sad thing is i do not know anyone who has a woo to help possibly lend parts to determine the problem

Daewoomofo, daewoomofo wrote:it sounds like it could (possably) be your cranl positioing sensor. that is what the ecu uses to know when to fire the coil. check and make sure that the CPS is plugged in, and that there is no damage to it orthe wire, and that its clean.
Crankshaft sensor was my first thought too !
Cam sensor was my second !

Now Boybuboo ?
You need to look at this from a logical perspective, right ?
Was the engine running fine before the t-belt broke ?
If yes ? Means everything electronically and everything else was doing what it was supposed to do.
Than the T-belt broke.
Since that happened:
You have not driven the car
You did head work and belt work, etc.
So, to me it seems that something is not in alignment (think timing marks) or something is not (think connectors) hooked up.
Or a fuel line is not hooked up.
I have had stuff like this happen before and every time I ; "re-trace the work that was done "
I discover the problem.
Keep us posted, we are here to help dude !

ok as far as the sensors go they are fine and do have spark from the plugs as far as fuel lines i retraced all that during the first 2 weeks i was rackin my brain to figure out why it wasnt helpin had a friend over helpin too we could not find anything wrong as far as if it was running before the belt snapped i am not sure bought the car after the belt snapped now supposedly it was working fine...the timing marks are aligned correctly everything is also in sink when i manually cranked the crankshaft so im sure that its not a timing issue.....i currently thought today maybe it is fuel delivery even as i am getting fuel to the rail and have gas on the pistons when i look down in there im wondering if the jets are not getting enough pressure....to test this i sprayed some of the starter fluid into the intake like its instructed but the car still does not turn over in fact its worse off then when i just regularly try to start it

Some thoughts:
When you turn it over does it backfire at all ?
I would quit using the starting fluid. It should start w/out it.
And yeah, maybe a fuel delivery problem.
When you turn the ignition key on, do you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds than stop ?
Thats what it's supposed to do.
And yes, could be the injectors are clogged.
Or more so ? worn out and allowing too much gas into the combustion chambers.
I don't know how to check for that. (maybe take a couple of em out and have them checked by a pro ?)
Did you install a new fuel filter ?
Do you have fresh gas in the gas tank ?
When you did the head work ? Did you install new lifters ?
(old lifters and new valves can cause lots of problems.)
Your sure you have the firing order (plug wires/coil-packs) correct ?
(look carefully at each pack and you will see the plug numbers it fires embossed on it.)
Hopefully others will add to this list.

i disconnected the fuel line at the fire wall right before the fuel filter had someone turn the key (because i learned with my tahoe hearing the pump engage is not enough) and i shot fuel across the car....yes i put fresh gas in it as soon as i did the head because i thought maybe it was out of gas and the gauge was broke.....as far as firing order noone seems to know it so using what i figure is common sense i have it in this order from left to right 1234....the order i have them in is because the pistons that come up at the same time are the 2 outside pistons they drop then the 2 inside pistons come up.....its also been the best sounding to the start out of all the orders i tried.....and yes the head has all new valves and pistons i sent it off and had it rebuilt i wish someone who knew more about daewoo lived close by lol
