Great site. I have a 2001 Lanos S that I've been working on the last couple months and I've used your how-to articles for a few different things. Recently I just replaced the pads and rotors (eBay drill/slotted) after 35K miles.
One question though... when I removed the Caliper brackets they were VERY tight, so when I re-installed them I tried to make them "pretty darn tight" but with a 3/8" socket and no breaker bar I'm concerned about how tight I got them. They were also fitted at the factory with some loc-tite blue on the threads... should I have reinstalled them with loc-tite?
Anyone know what the torque specs are for that 10mm allen bolt that holds the caliper bracket? That seems like a part that I don't really want to fall off
And BTW, I'm preparing to sell it... any idea for value for silver Lanos S, 35K... excellent condition, stored mostly indoors (Los Angeles area)? All stock (except for the slotted rotors) new battery, brakes and tires.
Great site, Drill/Slot Rotor TQ question??

Thanks for the reply... that's what I did. I put a little 6" piece of pipe on my 3/8" socket wrench and cranked down pretty good. Yeah, I like the Woo... but it's an extra car for us and we only have 2 parking spots so it's inside of my warehouse taking up space.daewoomofo wrote:just get it as tight as you can that will be good enough. why would you sell it, they are great cars, and get great fuel mileage. im sure thats a issue out there in cali, isnt it like $5 a gallon??
