Oh yeah, does your new/used engine need a timing belt etc...?
If yes? as you know, now is the time to do it.

well i have made quite a bit of progress. i got the engine all painted, and all of the brackets, for some reason there are 2 different variations of the alternator bracket, one is a single piece and the other is a 2 piece design(both are from cars of the same year, 2001), confused the hell out of me... but today i actually got the engine in the car, got all of the bell housing bolts on, the motor mounts, the torque converter bolted up, most of the coolant lines, fuel rail, starter and prolly some other stuff that i cant remember right now. my goal is to have it running by the end of the week end. i think thats do-able. ill get some pics up soon for any one that might want to see them.

IT LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just some small things to finish up, small exhaust leak where the head meets the exhaust mani, add more power steering fluid, CEL and my temp guage isnt working (i think thats the reason for the CEL) and the rear motor mount needs to be replaced (i have the part already) so if i can figure out the CEL and temp guage its gonna be on the road early next week. (thank you JohnnyC for helping me figure out where that hose went, your a life saver)

actually, ive never driven this car. my red one is the one iv had, its needed a tranny, LOTS of body work, and interior work. all this "new" car needed is the engine, now it has that so it should be good.

i have 3 problems that i need to figure out ASAP, i have a small exhaust leak, is there a gasket between the exhaust manifold and the first cat? and i have a green wire with a plug on the end of it that i dont know where it plugs into. i think its for my temp guage (since its not working) if any one has any ideas about any of my problems your help is greatly appreciated. thank you! but other than that the car is drivable, it runs great, drives good. it should be a nice car after i get these issues figured out.

That green wire with a plug is for your temp gauge, it connects to the back of the head, right below the intake manifold, there is a small nub that it slips over right next to the CTS, I've never seen a connection like it, but it is most necessary, you have to feel around as it is impossible to see without vision that goes around corners or mirrors. I had the same problem when I took off my head for a gasket change. The connector is a small flat circle that sticks out from the head on a tiny base, it's tiny dimensions make it really hard to find. I'd take pics for you, but its hard to get a camera back there.
