More HP in 10 minutes
For those who are still using an air box style intake here is a great way to increase Hp. All you have to do is disconnect the tube that runs out the bottom of the intake box. This tube is the braided one. By doing this the engine will take in cooler air with less restrictions. I took a temp reading at Idle (after running for 20min) and noticed a 20 degree F decrease in air temp. In turn Your engine will be louder. in my case deeper with out any high pitch at 5000rpm. I also suggest a KN Box Filter which can be bought for any Daewoo at www.1888pepboys.com.
Good Luck,

Re: Intake
This is not a cold air intake that goes down to the front bumper... yes it's from the gallery.asam wrote:Look at mine in the gallery. IT has been there for awile. I did it a year ago. I thought this info would be helpful, but im sorry you guys know so much.
What are advantages of having a dual intake set up (stock and custom)?
The air box can only take in so much air. Also check the temp of that area after running the engine. It tends to be around 25 degrees C. Coolder than theair box. When I have more time I will be rerooting it and sticking a computer CPU fan in the tube to Create a vortex. But notice how it is after the sensor. fools the computer i think. I do not get that sudden boost at 4000rpms either. look at the intake set up to a Ferarii. almost the same. but you get basically no restictions in intake flow. I also have one of those tornado things in there. That has helped. I can take out the box, but why it is not hurting anything.

isn't the inlet smaller than the intake hole? Couldn't you possbile drill/cut out some more to make a larger diameter under your box... also ... run some hosing to the foglight hole. those are possible solutions.

That was what I had in mind. the fog lamp hole or to the slits in the front bumper. The hole it is running out of is 2 1/4 inches at least that is what I used to adapt it to 3 inches. then I ran hard plasic pipes. the ones used in houses for hot water. Bought them at Home Depot. I like the double intake because i take in 881 CFM of air from the cool air and 441 CFM from the box. This gives me more air when I need it. With a great cold air the best i have seen is 900CFM from a K&N typhoon. But what ever, it is a new Idea and gives my car a sense of originality.

I don't know the exact gains but it is a power you can feel. I can kill civics in a race and that is all that matters. But the rubber does have some restrictions that metal does not but the double intake makes that minimal. also using a tornado really helped. I think it is worth tring. It was also something to show off if you make it look good. I plan on improving its look but had no time. needed to be fast for the High school Drags. Right now it looks better than that. That pic is about 2 months old.
