Yesterday i tried to install a new timing belt and i did it well, the old tentioner was really HURT badly, everyone saw it yesterday he got shocked, after installing new tentioners and timing belt, and making sure there its the right way, i found no pressure at all in the pistons, so im sure i have got at least 10 of the 16V bent, i know new valves cost will be 240L.E if GM, and new valves oil seals will cost 75L.E if GM so its not such a big deal like i thought, but do u think its better to buy another head with its valves and everything included, maybe not the cams. i dunno, do u know how much it cost and if that is the best?
too bad to hear about that man
i recon their is no need for a new head... just get a new set of valves and their seals (new head gasket and stuff) and do the replacment rather than buying a new head.
UMM okay then, that sounds better to me too, im starting working today afternoon or monday cuz i got a LOT of work on sunday and i dunno if i can start working in the car on sunday night or no....but DAMN the custom intake lil project will be delayed for a while cuz i will spend alot of money on this now....
well, whats that shop name, u know? i was thinking about FILLING that clutch with some good material and make its thickness 9 mm like the Sachs clutches, i know its 7.1 or 7.3mm for OEM or something like that, but i wish it works tho, anyway, i just like to try all the ideas and see what is the best result, but i will do that only if i didnt find any other clutch brands.
the shop is in sudan street... whe going from lebanon square intersection heading to Oraby street... the shop will be on your right and some 200 meters before the Orabi intersection
alright guys, yesterday i worked in the car to see what happened inside the engine, after removing the head, i foud ALL of the 16 valves BADLY bent, the pistons are not injured (thanks god) all it had is only some scratches which is not deep at all and they were gone after cleaning the dirt of them, the rings are very fine too, so i got the new valves and valves seals and got them installed in the head in the turning shop and the car is working 100% fine and even more quite and smooth, the work went so great and i was very carefull at any small detail to make it done perfectly...im back to streets again finally LOL
MM, u told me before that the Leganza TB will cost me 130 LE without sensors, plz tell me from where exactly cuz i asked at SOSO in Maryoutiya and he didnt have it right now and also gave me a weird expected price for this part when he get it next week, he said 250 :-0, plz tell me as soon as u can. THX and sorry for annoying too much lol
mezomaster wrote:and Andew21, just disconnect the rubber hose, no need to shut anything at all, if it solver the flat spots for ur car, then i am more sure that i was right, try it without the air filter too, if u got a stock air filter installed, i think this works better because the amount of the air went more than before with sport filters, but i think in stock filters it may be worse
Hey man, i put a new Pod filter in and also removed the VGIS hose... You definately can notice that the cars revs alot smoother & faster up the range and doesnt have the sudden 'kick' of power from opening up the 4 air gates inside the manifold...
My only question is :
A1- Does ramming such large amount of air during the Low RPM ( <3000rpm) range cause lag?
A2 - Would this greatly increase fuel consumption ? I mean ofcourse it would suck abit more fuel but just wondering how much more ???
Just curious why Daewoo would bother openning the 4 gates only at the higher rev range ? To save fuel mayb?

go to "Youssef" in herafeen... he is 3 or 4 shops right after "Altayar" shop.
i didnt install it yet, i have to make the new custom manifold first with new injectors also so i can feel the difference very well, also i heared alot of openions who says when u get a tb for 2000c.c. engine and a custom big manifold then u will need injectors for 2000 c.c., and some says for 1800c.c. cuz the air amount is way too much than before, so i think once i got that manifold done, i will have to try the 1600c.c., 1800c.c. and 2000c.c. bosch injectors from some friends of mine and see where is the best results. i will post pics for everyone of course once i got this done, but i am not even starting making this manifold in the next few days cuz im OUT of money right now lol, specially cuz i want to make the manifold in stainless steel and paint the headers into chrome or change them into stainless also
i will let u all know once i start doing anything in this small project...
im really sorry man, i didnt notice your post dunno how,
look, there is difference than letting the engine suck the air without any resistance and pushing air into the engine, what u do now is just allowing the engine to suck the amount of air which it needs with less resistance and more freely, of course it would save more fuel if u was driving like an old daddy lol, but if u push it hard it would need more fuel and that will cause more fuel consumption.

i don't think you will need that much bigger injectors for custom intake... you are not adding too much air that will need huge amounts of fuel to cope with... OK your VE will be better with the new intake but not that much different that you will need bigger injectors, anyways it won't hurt to test and see what is the best setup but don't forget to post the results.
