Daewoo automatic G/B service info

Post by 43som »

Hi all

wandering if someone may be able to helpo me find infomation on servicing the Daewoo Nubira auto gear box.
Gm want to charge an arm and a leg to do it. The car has almost done 200.000K and it seems to be playing funny tricks sometimes, so i would expect it needs to be serviced.
I tried google searching the subject, to no availe.

Any help would be apreciated

cheers

Dan,

I'm not 100% positive but I believe your Nubria automatic is the same as the Lanos auto's

Anyway, if it is ?
This thread should cover the information you need.

Hey 43som,

Just out of curiosity ?
How much does GM want to do the work ? And exactly what did they say they would do ?

Is it just a oil flush/change and new filter you need ?

If your mechanical at all and have the free time for it ? You can do it yourself.

Auto-Zone has a filter/gasket kit.

P.S. I see adds for auto transmission fluid and filter change (done by local independent transmission shops) for instance for like, $30.00 (usd)

Price probably does not include the ATF and filter though.

At trade price, not including oil just filter, i recall 350-400 aud.
i get the filter and oil for under 100 aud trade.
I apreciate the info, and my bro is actually a mechanic, but never did or knows much about the daewoo.s
i'll show him the info see what he thinks, but if he doesn't want to do it, we'll go an aftermaret servicer, with me supplying the goods.

She's all done.

The genuine service kit costs, $110 for the filter, and $108 for the seal genuine parts from GM.
Stuff this!

I used to work for autobarn here, and i could get the full kit non genuine for 38 bucks.

However i could not wait a week, and rang up the workshop doing the service, and they so happened to have a kit in stock.

$166 later, inc oil, parts and labour, and the car is running and drivng imaculately. it's like a performance mod. after 200.00ks the gear box had never been serviced.
now i am as happy as a pig in mud!
