I ran 2.25 on my lanos and never felt a loss of power. Go for it!! Sounds good too.mezomaster wrote:but u sure that 2.25 inches pipes wont lose any torque???i dont think i will turbocharge the car soon tho
If you dont have any other mods you might feel a drop in power. That will be caused by your intake restricting the air coming in. Get a couple other mods and then go for the 2.5 and you will feel a difference.
I did.

THX everybody, that was really helpful for me, i like the idea of the intake manifold alot too, specially cuz i can use that customed intake manifold if im going to turbo the car, and even if i changed the whole engine if i swapped the 2.0 or the 2.2L engine, i think it may fit if i modified a little things in it, so first of all i will work on getting that custom headers made first, and i will not make it in stainless steel because it will cost pretty much more than normal iron pipes, because i may need to change the whole headers again if i tuboed the car, but for the intake manifold, i will make it in stainless steel because it will work also with a turbo of course, but that will be on another step after making that headers first...THX ALOT i appreciate ur help guys.
use header wraps.mezomaster wrote:also i am a bit worried that the header may cause extra heat near to the fans and the plastic parts

Ya MMamdouh, i was going to look for a header wraps cuz im worried about any extra heat, cuz u live here in Egypt, and u know the GREAT qualities we have here lol, what kind of wraps u suggest? and where i can buy them from? i am going to make the header tomorrow and i was looking for finishing everything about it in the same day so i can forget about doing any more things in the exhaust for some time...

by the way, when i choose another bigger t/b from another car to apply it on a custom intake for my car, it may have different sensors in it, so i wouldnt be able to use the daewoo sensors and idler and so on, so it there a specific t/b should i buy which has the same sensors or close sensors which uses the same signals from my ECU?
look for wraps in 6 october
you can use a TB from a 2000 leganza engine and use your sensors... the TB holes has to be moddied to fit the intake.

THX MMamdouh, i already thought about the Leganza TB, but dont u think its not the best modification to use it? i mean the leganza TB is not that much wide enough throttle opening, so i thought if i am doing a modification, i should find a wider TB wich is gonna be more wider than just the leganza TB? dont u agree with me? if u looked at the MIVEC engines or Hondas. u will find a very wide throttle opening, some of them looks like u can use a sport air filter just directly on it without any hoses or pipes, By the way, i asked about the 1.6L twin cam 16V opel GM injectors today, i found a set wich are GM injectors but they r made in germany for 400 L.E, with the fuel rail and regulator, do u think its a good deal? or should i stick with the BMW injectors??
MIVEC engine revs up to 7200 RPM so thats much more CFM than our engines and that explanes the much bigger TB... i recon you will be OK with the 2.0 TB... also itis hussle free as far as the IAC and TPS are concerned.
never tried those injectors you mentioned but why risk something you don't know that is going to cost you twice as much as what we already tested?

honestly, i didnt know the BMW injectors will cost only 200 L.E, i have never asked about them before, but anyway the only reason i asked for the Opel injectors that the Opel engine is 16V but that M40 BMW 1.6L is only 8V (the black manifold engine), do u have an idea how much the Leganza TB will cost? even if the sensors is not included, isnt the Leganza 2.0L TB sensors are the same as the Nubira 1.6L? so i can just replace the sensors and not cost my self extra money for something ive already got?, and does anybody think if i made that custom intake too, would i need any larger capacity injectors more than normal 1.6L flow?? I'm not very sure about that but i already heared ALOT of ideas, u know everyone got his own theory of tunning.lol

first off... the 8 valve vs. 16 valve idea is invalid here, engine capacity and no. of cylinders is what decides the injectors flow so you are getting injectors from a 4cyl. 1600CC car and i have tried that on a friend's Nubira and the feedback is great so just forget about the 16 valve idea.
Leganza TB would cost 130 LE without sensors... just plug your own sensors in it and you are done.
i don't think the custom intake is a good idea for one reason: you got VGIS which optmizes the performance on both low and high revs... if you lose the VGIS and put a custom intake you might gain top end HP but your low end torque will suck big time.
my 2 cents.

first, the VGIS is a valve in the intake manifold of the 1.6L engine, which opens four inside gates in the manifold and let the air roam in turbinated motion to gain more power, it opens beginning from 4500 RPM, less than that RPM, the air just go in a straight way inside the manifold to gain more torque because those four gates are closed.
SECOND, finally i had my headers done, i made them 4-2-1, the 4 are 1.5", then a collector for cyl.1 and cyl.4, and another collector for cyl.2 and cyl.3, then two more pipes 1.75", then a collector to another one more pipe which is 2" along the way for the car. i had a sport Walker mid filter which has 2.5" inlet and outlet, and a Jasma back stainless steel muffler which has a 2.5" inlet, i moved the O2 sensor to the beginning of the 2" pipe...guys, the car is CRAZY now than before, it has never been like this before, but i got one bad news, i need a new clutch, and i cant find any other brand other than the Valeo clutch which is really sux here, i know Valeo is good abroad but i dunno why its bad here, MMamdouh, if u know a place which sells another good brands plz let me know
