did some more work on the car today and I think I worked out why it wont start.
the cam position sensor.
on the old engine (1.5 sohc) the cam position sensor is under the distributor.
but on the (1.5 dohc a15mf) I think its somewhere near the top of the timing belt.
couple of questions.
where exactly is it and would it be ok to connect it up to the old wires.
I cant use the ecu that came with the engine because of different plugs and wiring.
just wondering if anyone else has had similar experience

if the 1.5 DOHC is anything like the 1.6 DOHC then the sensor will be between the cam gears... i recon hooking it up to your current ECU won't cause any trouble.
