cd deck ?
i have a couple of problems that i need help with, first off every time i turn on my car like usual my cd player works but if i put it in any other gear it shuts off. im not surew whats happening. and second i was fixing my amp wires the other day and i accidently left the keys in the acc. position and put the ground wire on the ground part of the amp first and then i screwed on the positive a little spark and it started to smell kinda smokie. do you guys think my amp is fried or what? thanks.
When hooking up your amp you should make sure that the power wire is not hooked to the battery...that avoids the spark...or preferable just remove the inline fuse from the power line while hooking it up so that you don't get a spark at the battery when you hook it up. As for the amp...if you hooked up the power without a remote turn on hooked up and somehow the amp got power it may have fried it. I always hook amps up in this manner. First install the power wire without the inline fuse. Second hook the power wire to the amp. Third hook the ground. Fourth the remote turn on and speakers/rca cables. Fifth reinstall the fuse to the power line and turn on the cd player to see if everything is good. The amp being fried shouldn't have anything to do with the cd player working though. How did you hook the cd player up? Did you buy a wiring kit or cut the wires and solder them together?
Did you use a power wire for the amp...directly from the battery? Cause running the power to the amp from the radio power wire is not only not going to work well and could cause some power issues and loss of cd player functions but also creates a fire hazard because that wire is not made to carry that much power. Don't mean to be long or sound rude in this post but I don't want anyone to have their dash on fire like I did once when I was in high school and didn't know what I was doing.
If you could post how you hooked everything up I'm sure we can help you sort it out.

well for the amp i didnt have an inline fuse and for the cd deck they just cut the wires and electric taped them (they meaning our local electronics shop) i cant think of anything else its kinda late for me. i might have to buy an inline fuse tomorrow but im not sure if i should worry about that cause i probably fried the amp. oh well at least it was free.

if a shop cut your wires you should take it back and tell them to do it properly. you can get the daewoo plug for a after market radio fro like $10 at best buy, or they are on ebay. your amp might be fine. have you tried using it since you hooked every thing up? i say get a inline fuse and re connect every thing, make sure you have a good ground (no paint, dirt, grease etc) and try it again. ive had the spark before, back when i was just starting off with car stereos, lucky for me i never fried a amp.
Not to mention that the shop probably didn't tell you that cutting the wires under the dash can drop up to 1,000 dollars off of the value of the car. Daewoo's may be cheap cars but it still causes them to lose some value. The shop should really do a more professional job...I mean you probably paid like 40 bucks to install it. The least they could do is use a wiring harness that costs them maybe 5 bucks. I cut the wires on my car, but I knew that later on I'd be rewiring it all anyway.
I can look under my dash and see which wires are power and which are ground etc so you can check the wiring that the shop did. I believe the power wire was yellow? The reason you should look is there are a couple wires (in the lanos at least) that if hooked up can create a loop back through your parking lights and cause them to come on, stay on, or come on when the cd player is on.
Definately get an inline fuse for the amp. And try it again...if your lucky the amp has a fuse in it and it just burnt out that fuse. You also need to make sure the shop ran the right signal wire (the remote turn on wire) from your cd player.
