My timing belt broke. HELP!

so my timing belt broke. Could I have bent valves? ware can i find a step by step on how to line up the pullys and all theat good stuff? Thanks for any help. FYI its a 2004 Aveo LS with the 1.6l twin cam and an auto trans. :shock:

yes you will have bent valves. you will need to pull the head off and find out how many. while the heads off get it machined, and there is a how to for the timing belt change in the how to section, its for a lanos but its exactly the same.

Hey Pops,
Sorry to hear that happened.

You will definitely need detailed instructions.
I bought a Factory service manual for mine.

Besides the head work ? You will need:
New head gasket kit, new head bolts, an impact wrench to remove the crankshaft pulley, a new timing belt, new idler pulley, new tensioner pulley and most people also replace the water pump.
If I left out anything ? others will add to this list I'm sure.

P.S. also, be sure your pistons are ok? check the piston tops. Remember they smacked the valves.

Is it not covered under warranty being a 2004?
