ok i just bought a tac for the daewoo this weekend. ive read the write ups and was wondering how i take the plastic piece off, i tried unscrewing the screws but that didnt wirk. i have a 2000 lanos h/b and its a 1.6 (1598cc)
thanks alot. also is there a way i can change the color of the shift light?

i think this is what you mean

i removed the passenger seat and then I could see how to remove the computer cover and computer...

then I used the wire mentioned in the write ups and used a parallel splice connector to get my signal...

The plastic cover comes off by gently pulling the sides and you will feel the little latches unhook...

the rest of the install was extremely easy

you dont need to mess with the computer. the wires are also behind the guage cluster. even though its not used its there. its the green wire with the black strip.

yeah i see the wires but i couldnt figure out that plastic piece that sits on the computer. thanks ill try to figure it out tomorrow, too windy and cold here. maybe it'll snow so i can do some hand-break drifting lol

ok i took off the cover. i found 3 green wires dark green w/ white line and one with black line and a lime green w/black line. i use the dark green with the black line right? thank you ill post pics of the finished job

ok and for the lighting can i go through the dimmer switch and if so what wire? thanks

actually the dimmer works on the negative side if the circuit, and the light will only need a positive wire to make it light up. so the dimmer is not gonna work on your tach. at least thats how it was when i put a tach in my lanos.

ok so where can i go for a light source and what wire? maybe the gauge cluster? thanks

i dont remember which wire i used, it might have been light pink or peach... i think. you should use a test light. find a good spot to ground it to, and try all the wires till you find the one that is hot with the lights on only.

ok i got it all hooked up and it works a little frustrating but it is installed ill post pics in a little bit. thanks for all the help
