Both motors are using short block, so both are interchangable. There are a couple of members on the forum running 1.5 OHC bottom end, with Lanos 16V head, and turbo. This combination actually provides excellent starting poing for turbo setup due to 1.5's lower compression ratio, and flat pistons.

are we talking about the DOHC head form a 1.6 lanos or from a 1.6 nubira??
not sure about the 1.6 DOHC lanos but the DOHC nubira got different setup as far as the engine mount/PWS pump are concerned so the swap is not attainable even if the head/block match.
i only assumed we are talking 1.6 DOHC nubira as that would be the typical market portfolio for a person asking this question... he would have a 1.5 SOHC lanos and 1.6 DOHC nubira.
