shocks and springs review
Hi,
I have just replaced my Lanos stock shock absorbers and springs to more sporty ones and would like to comment about them... might be useful for others.
Shocks: I bought the KONI yellow adjustable shocks for front and rear. Thev'e got 4 adjustable options apparently, standars and another 3. I set mine on minimum cuz in Malta we've got horrible roads and it they had been set too hard I might have done quite a bit of damage! It was a nightmare to remove the front stock shocks, needed a size 60 wrench to unscrew the bolt, a real nightmare even to find the tool itselt
Over all they I found them very good, the only 'difficulty' would be that the car seems a bit too tight sort of... a bit squeeky, don't know how to explain it exactly. Very comfortable ride however on the whole.
Springs: bought OMP springs, red in colour, lowered 40mm. Excellent aestetic view with 15" BBS alloys, looks like a tank sometimes! would recommend them.
Maybe someone could find these comments useful

Bought some stuff from sharkracing a few months ago, risked paying with my credit card online, didn't have any problems though and received all I had ordered. The fact that they're korean but bothered to have an english website it already alot! saw lots of cool stuff on Korean sites but couldn't understand anything apart from the pics. really big pity

The best way I've found to do it, if you have a workshop, is to turn the strut upside down and clamp the shock nut in a vice and use a long bolt and a bar as shown below. It comes undone really easy like this. If you don't have a vice, I found that a pipe/monkey wrench works really well with a tube on it.daewooluvr wrote:yeah I'm in the middle of doing mine at the moment and can't seem to be able to figure it out.blackielaw wrote:Will post pics over the weekend. Pity didnt take any pics during the installation itselt. Probably would have taken good pics in any case, the stock shock removal made me lose my wits!
