What's the Proper Fuel Octane?

Post by Cruisin »

Hey, I have a 2000 Daewoo Lanos that has been an excellent car for me thus far. Unfortunately, it didn't come with an owner's manual. :( I've been using the high octane because I wasn't sure if it was designed for the lower octane gasoline. Does anyone know? The tanks not that big so the difference in the price doesn't really hurt too much but if I can keep it in my pocket I will. ;) Thanks!

Yep,

and the owners manual does call for 87 octane.

Actually your engine will probably run a lil better/cleaner on 87
