do i need an amp

today i turned 16. i want to add either 12" or 10" subs in the back of my leganza. i found some 12" reallly cheap but i have no money for an amp. is there any way i can just run the wire off of my stock speakers into these. i have no experience with any of this, but i am desperate. please help

yea you can but it will just sound bad.... really bad... actually dont do that at all lol

Just go to a pawn shop or ebay and buy one.

How many watts is your sub?

yeah your gonna need an amp. look at the specs of the subs your get and see how much RMS power they can handle. you want to get a amp that has the same (or less) RMS power rating per channel (the peak power dont mean shit). when you install every thing make sure you use a power cable that isnt too small for your amp, and make sure it has an inline fuse. also make sure that the ground point your use is solid and free of any paint, dirt, grease ect. good luck

sub with no amp is like a viper with 50HP engine, it might look fancy but good for nothing.
