Thanks, it wont be too much longer now. The grill is removed because I'm re-fabricating the mesh. Needed a change from how it was.

I don't think Club GTR was offering the hood either.

However I might have a lead on a CF hood. If I can ever get ahold of the guy again.

I wouldn't recommend Jetspeed(Club GTR) unless you have fistfuls of cash.

Lanos Body Kit

Post by DavesDaewoo »

Hey, Anyone have any site for a good body kit, checked the gtr site, no one will contact me and emails are invalid, the jetspeed site hasnt contacted me either although i hear they are of poor quality anyway, Found the other site on this forum, gfore customs in toronto, close to me and its a nice kit so im thinkin of goin with that, any sudjestions, also where can i find the spoiler as shown in the back of the club gtr pics? no other company seems to have it or even one similar, lookin for ideas, owe a bit of money on the car so cant customize it yet anyway,
Thanks all

I don't recommend Gforce customs either. I was talking to a friend of mine that got their kit on her lanos and they had all kinds of problems. There were air pockets in the fiberglass that found their way out after the car was painted. So they had to repair the pockets and repaint it again. Also the side skirts didn't fit right and the rear bumper needed lots of work. My advise to anyone who wants to put a body kit on their car, just find a really good body shop that specializes in custom body kits. Buy a cheap kit for a Neon or a Civic and have them hack it up to fit on a Lanos. It'll probably end up being cheaper in the long run. Just for my front bumper I spent about $1200 to get it and get it to fit right. I love the look of the jetspeed kit however for what I paid for it, I expected ALOT more of it. And just think, that's only one bumper. I plan on getting a custom rear bumper this winter.

Issue with me is time and money, I will be purchasing the kit by the spring and i dont know if im able to have the car sit and be fitted with a custom bumper, most places want to keep the car for a bit and thats not an option for me, I live close enough to toronto that i could check out teh geforce kit and see exactly what im getting into, for me 950us for the kit isnt alot, and if the kit looks ok when i go to get it i dont think ill run into probs after painting would I ? do you know anywhere else i can get a kit, every site has its problems, aka gtr, jetspeed and geforce, only reason i pick geforce is no shipping :p but if you know of any others please let me know, looking for some smaller things to do to the car before spring, i dont wanna get rims or bodykit till spring but you got any other cosmetic ideas ?

Color matching the mudflaps/door handles/mirrors/trunk trim really makes a big difference. The mesh grill adds a touch of sport as well.

Ya, Thats the first thing im doin is meshing the grill, im unsure wether to mesh the middle and leave the outsides, mesh the 2 outter and leave the middle or to mesh the whole thing, i tghink the whole thing meshed is too much with my kit when i get it, but what do you mean by color matching trunk tri, door handles etc?

Dave

ps i have the lanos side black trim, im debating should i take that off? i think it would add a bit to the look having not all one color but at the same time it may also take away from it

well the rear bumper is just sitting there. Right now the engine work takes priority.

Basically the rear bumper will be a Buddy Club style with the Jetspeed lip on the bottom.
