Glad to see you finally got it..... but my 2.2L turbo lanos will still kick your ass :gib: because it will be lighter :)

And yes... that is a challenge.... so we will have to get together some time and race.

Mind you with my time schedule you will have your project done years before mine

I dunno... 3.2L of turbo RWD power versus your pansy-ass 2.2L FWD... hmm

I think a tubular subframe 800WHP pansy-ass 2.2L FWD Lanos should do well against your heavy Cattlelicker engine :p

You'd need 30psi of boost to keep up with me for where I'm going. :smt030

So I take it by your comment that " IT'S ON " right??

Better bring some "Depends" to the race... cuz your gonna crap your pants when I pull away from you like your standing still :smt110

I dunno... you're my senior... and by the time your done building that thing they might not even make gasoline anymore

Besides, I have a chunk of billet sitting here with the word "crank" written on it in sharpie... something tells me 800hp won't be a problem ;)

(btw... 4130 FTW, should in all honestly be lighter than a stock Lanos)

You know I'm just screwing with you right??

Stage one for the Lanos is a turbo U20SED..... and your right... by the time I get the 2.2L done I'll probably have to make it run on E85 (which was the plan anyways)

I did plan on a 2.4L billet Crank.... and I was going to bore out the cylinder walls and throw in some nice Darton centrifugal cast sleeves.

My biggest problem is the stupid tranny.... I need to get my hands on an F40 so I can see how it will handle the power.

They've been mating it to Corvette engines for use in Fiero conversions..... so far it seems to be doing ok.

So far my cheapest aftermarket tranny solution is $15,000 USD..... which certainly makes me want to rev high to keep the torque lower.... so that I can use something decently priced.

My goal is still 12,000 RPM..... if I can't get the ECOTEC head to do it.... I know that the C20LET Coscast head will work ( there are kits for 10K and 12K..... fairly reasonable price as well )

The Hewland 6-speed that fits the engine is in that price range ;) ;)

I hope your planning on a mid engine design.

With a combination of a front mounted V6/tranny and the light weight of the Lanos your rear end won't get traction.... and it will probably be nose heavy and handle like crap.

To me.... a mid engine turbo V6 would be a feat worth your talents.... anthing else just falls short.

We'll see. I kinda like the idea of a RWD sedan though. But on the other hand, I have another v-6 laying in wait should I find a need for it

Efrain.... if your talking to me.... plans have changed yet again.

The Lemans will be my track car and the Lanos will be the drag car.

Nick (Lanos2001) is buying his Lanos back from me.... and that was originally going to be the "drag car"

The newest plan is to sell the Optra5 and import a Calibra as my daily driver.

The Optra 5 is a decent car...... but a sweet Calibra 4X4 Turbo would be a billion times better.

It would also be the only one in North America ( to my knowledge )

Basicly.... I want to find one that has been heavily modified allready..... something around 300bhp

If anyone in Canada is interested in the Optra5.... I'd be willing to modify the piss out of it. :)

What's with this "we'll see" stuff.... come on.... twin 6cyl turbo engines running 1000hp each !!!!!

One mid engine one front engine.... and link the two engine via a high output electric motor!!!!!!
