0 - 100 My car is a turd!!!

Shifted too early in 1st too early in 2nd just right in 3rd and 4th. Had to get off of it a bit in 5th
because i thought i was gonna get pulled over!!! It is really hard to shift,steer hold the camera
and pay attention to the road!!! I dont think i will do that again until i can mount it up some how.
My car really levels out in 5th but about 110 it has a all new "powerband" and it will start to creep
up to well over 120mph. I will get my camera mounted up soon!!

ok.... so you guys saw my car full bore to 100 mph in the first vid and up to i think 95 mph in the second vid. I think the shifting and acceleration in the second one was better. So my question is..... Is my car as fast as it should be for what i have done for it? Is it as fast as some of the other NA Lanos?

I have noticed that you shifted into 5th gear before even hitting 100mph. I usually go into 5th gear around 105mph... maybe the lack of the tach makes you shift earlier and you feel that the car is slower?

Also, did you max out the 5th gear?? I know my max is around 115mph... and I don't have nearly as many mods as you do (performance wise). Just SRI, removed exhaust resinator, performance exhaust, and a choco chip.... it is also lowered with Eibachs.

I dont try to beat on my car but i found out where the rev-limit is on accident.

1st 0-25
2nd 25-50
3rd 50-70
4th 70-95
5th 95-127mph

Anymore than that i will be bouncing the rev-limiter in 1st-4th.

5th That is the fastest that i have gone in my car!! I havent hit the rev-limiter in 5th i think that might be too much for that car.

i got a 1.5 SOHC and this is what i got out of the car

1st 0-29 rev limiter
2nd 25-50 rev limiter
3rd 50-75 never maxed
4th 70-93 never maxed
5th 95-106 mph never maxed

my rev limiter maxes forth out at 111mph, and i have ran outta road , but i have had my lanos up to 129!!

Would the weight of the car make any diff. of the speed at which the rev limiter kicks in?

For example.... if i had 5 peeps in my car, and was trying to race. the extra weight in the car wouldnt let me get to the desired speed for that gear. It would get to the rpm range that would engage the rev-limiter but not the speed. I geuss my question is.... If i lightened the car would i be able to get more speed out of each gear or would it still cut out at the same speed and just get there faster?
