Tim

Nice pistons man, I didn't realise Ross could make them, what did they cost ?? I found IPP were the only guys that listed pistons for the 1600 GM motor. I have also been wating for mine to arrive in Africa for the last 2 months.

What's the bore and stroke of the 1500 compared to the 1600 ? I know 1600 is a 79mm bore, so was just wondering what the diff is with the pistons.

Séan
Séan Brennan
1600 DOHC 16v
Turbo TD04
Wiseco Pistons
ex - 17" TSW Freeze
Yokohama Parado 205/40s
NOW = 18" TSW Terra's
Pirelli 215/35 P Zero Nero tyres

Nice project.. Love the work that's being done on your car...
Friend of mine did a similar thing on a Civic 1.4 with IHI turbo from Fiat Uno @ 6PSI and the HP went from 90 stock to around 130 at the weels... I expect similar results with your engine...

On the other hand I went the other way... My engine is sold and I got myself a 2.0SE engine with some machining done to it and a ECU reprogramed + just bought a NOS kit... Should be fine... Check it out! ;)

Will continue to monitor your thread..
Best Wishes from Gordan! :D

Thanks. The 1.5L SOHC Lanos has a bit under 60hp at the wheels stock if i remember correctly - so im keen to see what final results are.

A 2L NOSd engine will be quite interesting too :)

60HP at wheels?? thats 30% power loss from crank power... are you sure of the 60 WHP rating?

Thats a bit too much...

How's the low range response of your engine now?
My engine is still in my car and I'm not happy with it.. It's jerky and sluggish... Can't quite describe it... But it's awfull!

How much $$ did you spend on all this? (aprox?)
What kind of paint did you use on your engine block?

umm... the HP rating is correct but the 0-100 times are not accurate, my manual says it is 12.5 for the 1.5 and i am sure the 1.6 can do it in less than that.

anyways 15% loss will give out some 73 WHP, can't say this is accurate as it is just mere mathimatics rather than real dyno result.
