two years ago my TPS gave away and i had to replace it, went to my parts shop and replaced it myself... now some people are saying that i have to get the car "fine tuned" using a computer to calibrate the TPS i installed, is that correct?

I have heard of that before, in my honest opinion, its a gimmick. Just to get your money, and its what mister q said, just reset the ecu.....

i did reset the ecu after the installation, also out TPS is beeing installed in a way that doesn't allow calibration by tilting it so their is nothing to calibrate.
i saw an adjustable TPS on a Lanci Didra and their is some sidway clerance on both screws of the sensor to allow it to tilt... the adjust ment is done when the car is at tidle and the sensor is tilted till it gives aout a sepacific voltage and then the screws are tightned... now way to do that on a daewoo.
