For the 1.5 SOHC Lanos owners...
Finally to post a couple of pics how to install a tacho in your car....
First of all... It'll take you about a half an houre to do this.... You need to remove your passanger seat to be able to reach te ECU from wich you are going to take the signal for your tach.
That black plastic thingy in the middle of the picture and under the passanger seat is the ECU protection cover. Just unscrew the 4 screws and you'll find your ECU under it...
This is the code and serial from my ECU.... Don't know about others but on mine I do have a signal wire for tach... To be exact,half signal for my tach so you need to do a little trick here...
The trick is to use a Tach on which you can choose the number of cylinders your car has.... Cause my ECU on the output of the green/black wire gives only half of the signal needed for the tach to work properly you need to compensate for that... Trick is to set your tach like your car has only 2 cylinders... Then it will display correct RPMs.
Notice the black/white numbers on the tach and the microswitch.... Position is on nr 2....
Ok,now youre ready to connect the tach to your ECU... The wire which has the RPM signal is displayed on the picture and marked with yellow arrows....
WARNING
This is ok on my ECU... I can't be 100% sure that it will work on yours... Try it before with multimeter...
On AC scale it reads from 1V to aprox 5V when you rev your engine and on the same side if you try to get a reading on the same wire with your multimeter set to measure DC volts it will show readings from aprox 13V to 10V.... So the wire has AC and DC voltage on it....
The readings should be similar to the ones shown here on the video.... Notice that my tach is a bit slow cause its digitall.

I don't think my tach has 2 cyclinders to select, I think it's 4, 6, 8.
Do you need to just double the voltage the wire delivers? If so is it possible to do that with a device between the wire and tacho?
Also, mine is 1.3 SOHC and ECU is at the front of car on opposite side of the fusebox kick panel, strange.

I wanted to see what kind of signal it is that's coming out of the ECU but I couldn't cause my scope is at frends place...
I'm going away from the country for a week so I'll do it when I'm back..
Until then, like I said... It has AC and DC voltage on the output which is kinda strange.... I couldn't see if those were pulses which tacho counts or just voltage increase cause I didn't have my scope with me...
