Here's a custom Aveo/Kalos to consider *Lots of Pics*

Post by whiteraven »

Okay, so according to the tag and title information...its a Chevy Aveo...but I know better, since its a Daewoo Kalos!!!

Okay, so I thought of turning it back into a Kalos, with pizazz. I've added a Carbon hood and engine cover, red under hood silicone tubing and grounding kit. Its also got a first production set of Z3 Roadster fenders, Drift bumpers, and I ordered through kinkyllama a Korean style Kalos grille.

So after a bit I decided I didn't like the way the rear Drfit bumper sat so high, so now me and my body work/painter friend are reworking it.

So onto the pics!!

Image
The rear and front were not installed when I got it.
Image

So I installed the fenders...
Image

And put on the factory chevy grille ( minus the center bar and chevy badge).

A few weeks later kinkyllama delivered my grille and I added a bit more to it.

And the rear view...
Image

And the hood...

Then instead of the Razzi side skirt knock-offs that came with the Drift kit I had these made (from a few different skirts I bought from work at Sport Compact Only)

And no I didn't just slap on those logos/vinyls.... this was a former SEMA car built by Gravana, though I've now replaced almost everything that was done previously.

And some future upgrades include Pedals and new badging (if I can find some KDM Daewoo logo badges)
Image
Yes, those are Auto pedals, and I have a manual tranny...I like having a wider pedal under my feet, so I got 2 sets of auto pedals.

And some recent updates include starting on the rear bumper...

So I got a few more donor bumpers again from Sport Compact Only, as well as some good cardboard (for mock-up and templating)

Then out came the grinder... (that's my friend you see, I'm taking the pics.)

Image

Then a little mock-up, trial and error to see what will look best.

Then we started again another day and came to this point.

And that's it for the bumper so far... rest you'll have to wait 'til its done.

Well, I didn't like orange front bumper markers, but didn't want to just get rid of them. so...I employed my friend Josh at http://www.IznTrbl.com to make a few improvements on them.

So he removed the stock lense...
Image

Painted the orange plastic housing black and made new lenses.
Image
Image

Then I got a wild idea I ran by him...and he liked it...so we did it.
Image
Image

Then a few weeks later I got this.

And inside there was these!

And the pair.

Here's what it will look like in the end (I didn't install the bumper back on after the test fit, thats why the gaps.)

Okay, so I'm not just working on the outside, but the inside as well. I'm trying to make a nice "Stock upgraded" interior look, but with added sound deadening and nice finishes.

Back Seat comes out.

Image
Image
Clean off rear floor area, tape down the carpet on the front edge. (I LOVE Gorilla tape, so much better than even Duct Tape.)

Image
And here are dome floor mats I'm working on, all they need next are the edge trim and they are set.

Here's the material I am using.
Image
Image
And my starting pattern for the rear part.

I'll post more progress as I go, but now I gotta sleep...night shift over the weekend.

Amazing... that remember me when I enter for the for the first time in the forum. No body kit for daewoo that's it. Then one guy here said, if there are no parts, build them.... That was a new beginning for me and my car.

Excellent job dude. I like really much the Aveo V, and your project is going wild.
