i guess now i have one of three options and i have arranged them from easy to hard to do:

1- swap in a 1.6 DOHC
2- turbo my current 1.5 SOHC
3- swap a 1.6 DOHC and turbo it.

I like option 3 the most

C18NE is the small block??? First I've heard of that engine.... what make and year of car did it come in?

I don't belive I've come across a stroker kit for the 1.6L.... I'm sure that the C18NE crank would be something worth looking into.

My opinion.... why stick with the 1.6L when you could go with a 2.0L turbo ;)

thanks a lot for this info on the c18ne........... I've been studying the opel/vaux/holden/daewoo/pontiac/isuzu engines for several years and it's rare that I find out anything new/interesting like this... I would think there would be significant interest in getting a larger displacement out of our 1.5L/1.6L engines

yes men, my expierence was whit and 1400cc sohc and whit a 1600cc dohc, the two engines got no problems of any kind, good temperature, good idle, its the better way to get the max power from a small block ;)

we got few of them 1.8 SOHCs here as they came stock on the high patrol nubira wagons here.

you have to find pistons and crank, the rods are the same of the 1.5

Excuse my ignorance, guys,
But to go from a 1.8 DOHC to a 2.0 DOHC, what would I need? I really haven't got a clue when it comes to Engines, but I'd like to have a go.

Thanks,
Spaceman.

P.S. I think I asked you this before Chris@PrecisionBoost, I have a rough idea whats in an engine, but I don't know my Camshaft from my Crankshaft. Thanks.

to those talking about the 1.6 to 1.8, IF is not a Z18 (on newer Corsas/Astras) it cant be done. the 1.8 on the nubiras as far im aware are big blocks 1.8

spaceman: TBH it would be better to find a 2.0 or even better a complete 2.0 dohc from a vauxhall.
