i didn't understand what do you mean by "take it easy" but anyways i wanted to know the procedure you did as every different sensor has its own method of cleanup and the last thing i want is a busted crank position sensor due to wrong cleanup procedure.

the major method for ECU to detect engine misfire is to detect the speed change of crank shaft pulley.MMamdouh wrote:i didn't understand what do you mean by "take it easy" but anyways i wanted to know the procedure you did as every different sensor has its own method of cleanup and the last thing i want is a busted crank position sensor due to wrong cleanup procedure.

the method of crank speed sensor is: when the conductor cut the magnetic fields, the conductor will generate electric current.
that is why the sensor does not tough the pulley and can know how fast it runs.
So, if any other conductor or any other magnetic things existing between the sensor and the pulley,
or the pulley is not installed perfectly, which means the destance between pulley and sensor will change when the pulley runs.
the current will change a little bit. and ECU misunderstand it and report engine misfire.
good explanation... i just realized that ABS sensors are using the very same concept.
