Ok well i ripped apart my entire car and it lays in pieces right now, i checked the head connections and everything and they are fine then i checked the speakers and when i pressed em down and no crackle, the speakers look brand new like they were out of the box. Now i remember that night i tried switching from cd to tuner and all of a sudden it said "failure" on the screen so i turned it off and back on and everything worked. If i blew the head would only the two most powerful speaker leads be blown or the whole thing wouldnt work? I dont get it and its pissing me off only the front speakers dont work they are completely silent, the speakers in front are infinity kappa's, the ones in back are infinity references, and the head is a sony cdx m8815x. Quick replies appreciated.
you could have fried something in the front speaker circuit of the head unit... dry to get a small speaker and use it as a tester to check if the head unit does produce signal through the front channel... also take off one of the front speakers and hook it to the rear channel feed to make sure the speaker is blowen or not.

lol well ok i hooked up my old head so both still dont work i kept turning fade from front to rear then the right fornt one kicks in so i kno its the speakers, lol they have a cross over on them nd when i had a back window my sub kind of made a vacccum punch that would turn on the fornt speakeers so i think when i get a new back window and slam the sub once they will turn on, this has happened before liek the speakers would trurn o at higher volumes then work for 2 weeks and thewn i would start the car at a low volume and one wouldnt work and i would turn it up and it would kick in and sound good as ever.

Ebay. They were brand new sold in box when i get the new back window and i havea vaccum seal im pretty sure my sub will give em a punch and the right one will work. I know for a fact theyre not blown, the front right one works with both the stock head and my new head. This morning i disconnected the speaker connections for the right one and it still was dea silent but the right one worked with out any sign of being blown, the right one started working as i was playing with the fade on the stock head last night then this morning i reconnected the good head and it worked and sounded beutiful as always but the right one still didnt work. ill disassemble the right door too and look at it, i think thats what fixed the left one the door still isnt even on the left side but the speaker works, i have an extra amp behind me and im consiedering putting it under my seat and attaching a cap to it and run it to the saame terminal where my sub is hoooked up i mean come on whats an extra 100 watts really gonna drai from the battery especially with 2 caps working. Also i think my sub amp has a short im going to fix later and thats why it overheats and also possibly why its giving me electrical problems.JohnnyC wrote:Why not take them to where you got them and say, "hey... how come these speakers you sold me don't play anymore? These things go bad a lot?"
Could work out in your favor.

if the speakers cut out at random times, they are shot. having to make your sub "jump start" them is pretty crappy. take the speakers out of the doors. while holding them in you hand give the cone a push, if you hear ANY scrapeing, they are blown. it sounds to me like there might be a short inside the speakers. are you sure they were "brand new" from ebay. how long have you had them?
