c20get build
i have a c20get that i plan to rebuild and put a daewoo nubi 16v head on, I will be using a T03/T04 turboand i want to run 17 psi max.. i have a two stage boost controller i'd set at 10psi street and 17 for the track.
Few questions about this,
1. what kind of power could i expect to get from this combonation?
2. how strong is the c20get bottom end? will it handle it?
I plan to run the stock bottom end and just machine the valve cuts into the pistons, but i dont know if it will hold up to this. and if it wont stand up to it what about ARP rod bolts would that do it or do i need to get more extreme and get the c20let rods.
also what are the chances of getting away with 20psi cause i figure at 17 it might spike a bit and i'll end up at 20. Basically what im asking is what do i need to stand up to this kind of power.
My other concern is the tranny, i have the getrag 282 that came in the c20get sunbird with a 5 speed tranny, how much can this tranny take and what about the clutch?
thanks in advance

here's the bad news, the C20get is the same casting as the T20sed so if you're usin =g the T20 head there is no need for the C20 swap. also your T20 has a lot newer technoledgy than the 87-91 C20 blocks. i'm not sure about the T20 but it may be cast with a higher nickle content then the older opel block, the T22sed is for sure, which that in itself makes it stronger of the bat. if you compare the compresion ratios, the C20GET is at 8.5:1 to the T20SED's 9.6:1 because of a larger cc combustion chamder in the head of the C20. both pistons are dished to the max and even moreso in the T20 because of valve notching. the C20LET rods may be a way to go but i use costum aluminum rods so i don't know how they spec out. back in the day there were a few tranys out to bolt up to the opel motor if you have a Getrag or a Muncie you're sitin' well but i don't now how they compare to the modern tranys.
i have a C20GET, a T20SED and a T22SED and altametly the way to go is the T22 even if you wanted to use the T20 or the C20 rotating assembly, the T22 is reinforced to be the stongest i've seen.
i'm building a turbo T22 with a t3/t3 stainless header and everything you could want and street legal i sould see well over 600bhp+ yes STREET LEGAL!
pm me or email me if you have any questions on what i've got going on so i don't loose track of you.

I dont have the block and i dont really want to have to go track one down, i'm just hopin to go with what i've got just curious what kinda power i'm going to be making and if it will take it all like i said in my first post, I know compression might be a bit much but i plan to machine the valve cuts into the c20get pistons and maybe a little more tp get the desired compression ratio. thanks for teh help tho you gave me a few ideas

the pistons
that's well, you should see about 300+ but don't mechine the C20GET pistons just use the T20SED pistons, they are the same specs and you will save money in mechining.

pistons
Mr_Efficiency asked if there were any piston upgrades for the T20, T22 and like model an the anwer is yes! i'm working with CP Pistons on developing a set for my car and if anyone is interested then we need to make one bigg order in hopes of saving money. the current price is between $500 & $600 and for custom pistons that's not bad.

Thats a pretty good price for the pistons, but i know were to get cheaper ones and you dont have to bore your block to fit them in like the ones your talking about, also I'd like to stay with the stock pistons as they are already forged and i can get valve cuts in them for less than $100. Thanks anyways, but i'd rather stay with what i got here, plus i just dont have the $$ for that right now.
I did decide tho to get forged rods, i found a set on this site for an awesome price ($349) so i'm going that route.... i dont think i should have any troubles with the crank breaking or anything, that would take alot. I also found copper head gasket for around $90, all kinds of good stuff, I think i got my bottom end figured out now.

Any help you can offer me in locating thsoe forged rods for $350? That would be much appreciated!
I found an even better headgasket as well. I am using a cometic MLS headgasket part# H1184. After blowing a headgasket on my first bottom end and spinning a bearing when I lost oil pressure at 5k rpm, it's nice to have something that will hold 25+ psi.
Pleeaaaaaase post up your source for LT3/c20get rods.

new pics
here are pics of some of the parts that would come with.
the turbowould need rebuilding but the brackets and downpipe are there for a T25 or T28
it also has the T25/T28 inlet and "log" type manifiold if whoever gets it doesn't to worry about a custom header. they can choose between the flange set and the manifold.
it also comes with GM Performance cam followers which one of the most sought after pieces for the motor.
ofcource a complete gasket set minus a Cometic MLS head gasket.
i also have the lemans/optima water system which is what come on the euro spec motor w/ AN fitting for the turbo.
