Turboing basics

Post by Aneab »

I was wondering what were all the basics i need to know about turboing a car.

One question i have is...

What does trim level mean?
I've been looking it up forever and can't seem to find out what it means... Spent hours on google... and people talk about trim levels but cant find an explaination... on boards or informational websites... I used the search tool on Homemadeturbo.com but so many results came up that i got about half way through before i gave up...

anyway... Thanks for any help in advance!!

No no, not those trim levels, i've been talking to some guys lately that have turbos and they refer to their trim level... saying something like "I'm getting a .50 trim on a forum for..." and i'm kinda curious as to what it is... I was going to ask him, but feared being laughed at, as we were at a car show and i didn't know the guy lol... so i just nodded my head...

I know what that kind of trim level is for your car, just looking into turbo trims...

Trim and AR ratio are measures of the size of a turbo. Here are a few interesting links that should help out...
