Radiator Reservoir Empty ( NEED ADVICE)

Post by koh »

Hi,

My car is Daewoo, Lanos II, manual. Made in 2001.

It has been sometime that I checked the engine. After filling up petrol at a station, I checked the engine. I noticed the radiator reservoir empty !! When I released the cap, the water rushed back to the reservoir.

So, after reaching home, about two hours later, I checked the radiator reservoir again, This time, there is no water at all in the reservoir, even I opened the cap of the reservoir.

Is my water pump faulty or the fan failed to run ?

Do advise. Thanks.

are you using pure water in your cooling system?? i have noticed that for some reason people using pure water get into this issue.

are you having any leaks?? check all hoses, radiator body and water pump, also check to see if your oil is kinday milky.

Mine did this to for about a week. I was told by a car shop to check it for about a week and refill it everytime it got low or there wasent any fluid. Also you might want to flush your radiator, there could be somthing cloging it up.

Thanks for the reply.

After topping up the radiator with tap water, the radiator reservoir has residue water. I guessed this might due to long period of evaporation as the last check on the engine was about one month ago.

I might have to give up this car as I could not get spares in Singapore.
