ive been trying to email the person to get a chocolate chip but havent heard from him do you have any recomendations

Yes, get something else instead... I don't think they make choco chips anymore. Maybe ask one of us if someone is not using one?

I'm lazy...... otherwise I'd go over it again.... somewhere there is a post about the exact resistor that could be used to make a "chocolate chip"

But.... instead of looking for that.... listen to what I have to say.

Hacking your IAT (intake air temp) sensor will do nothing for your car except make you use more gasoline.

Basicly it tricks your car into thinking the air is more dense ( cold air ) and your car compensates slightly by throwing in extra gasoline.

But your car isn't stupid.... if it sees a rich O2 sensor reading it will simply compensate.

In the end I feel it's a complete waist of time.... and it could be dangerous in certain situations... if the chip falls out your car will be very unhappy.

I had my IAT become disconnected by accident once (didn't clip it in fully when trying a new intake design) and the car backfired and lost power prior to throwing a Check engine light.

So.... although you might think it's going to help I can pretty much guarantee it won't.... I've even seen official before and after dyno shots.... in the end the chocolate chip resulted in a net loss of 2hp.

it has been a dylama for me... if you dump too much fuel -> o2 sensor detects rich mixture -> ecu leans things out -> back to correct mixture so whats the point of doing that??!

actually i don't think you can gain anything by merley dumping more fuel without adding extra air to burn it and vice versa... looking at that statment from a much broader prospective will tell you that a well tuned turbo setup is the ultimate engine upgrade for seeking more power.

maybe if you are running very mild boost like 2 or 3 psi you can use the chocochip method for getting extra fuel to compansate for the extra air forced in... maybe. anyways it has been prooven that trying to dig out extra power by fooling sensors is not effective at all.

oin,

this chip is bullshit. not long ago, especially here in the forum it was the utimate thing. we tested it with a 20cent resitor, nothing happens.
a turbo engine don´t need somethink like this, because you have to adapt the ECU for the new conditions. in this way, you can adjust the engine map so that a fat mixture ist okay.
everything else is home-improvement-market-tuning
