The other day i got in my car and turned my a/c on and the setting wouldent change from feet and face to just face. the knob turns but it dosent change, anything any ideas?

+1, it happened to my friend's Tiburon... She just changed the setting and then she couldnt change it back... Took it to the dealer though so not sure how she fixed it.lanos2001 wrote:if its like the lanos then a little plastic piece broke off the cable. i think its a cheap little part. you'll have to take apart the dash enough to look behind it to confirm it though.

i know the piece your talking about, and its broke too but it controles the climate not where the air comes out.. its been broke for about a year now and i probly need to get it fixed But whatever is wrong with mine is putting air out of all the vents. its like all my setting are on insteead of what i choose.

Dillon, the exact same thing happened to me.
It was the plastic connector on the far end of the cable that had broken though, so I had to remove the glove compartment to find it (right-hand drive vehicle).
I glued it back together with evostick, and then wrapped lots of thin strips of duct-tape around it, as the joint receives a quite large force, so the glue on it's own probably wouldn't hold.
If you want to get to the the back of the vent knob; remove the stereo + fascia + ashtray, then you can unclip the a/c fascia; that'll let you check which end is broken, and which direction the cable travels.
