I am trying to work out what engine I have in my Daewoo Nubira 1.6 estate. The reason is the idle is very rough and I wanted to clean the as shown in http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2619 the problem is I don’t have that valve and the auto electrician says I have a sensor that is not supposed to be on the car, so what do I have? Have included a picture
Thanks for your help

A picture of the whole engine would make things easier to figure out.
I don't think you have a Lanos engine.... the UK motors were typically higher compression and did not come with the VGIS ( Variable Geometry Intake System)
I'd have to see a picture to take a good guess

Ooops.... yes you have a Daewoo 1.6L.... for some reason I managed to get mixed up and thought this was a Vauxhall.... which is strange because it's the first thing you said.... I guess I noticed the "england" and assumed we were talking about a Corsa or something.
Anyways......... your throttle body is very odd.
What year is your Nubira??
Pretty much all the repair guides I have show something different than what you have installed on your throttle body.
There should be an IAC solinoid similar to the picture in the "how to" on the top and a separate TPS sensor underneath it.
It's almost like you have both combined into one unit.
In all the repair guides I only noticed one picture that was similar to yours and that was the 2004 Nubira 1.6L F16D engine.
The only problem is that they only show removal of the IAC and TPS for the 1.8L version.... for some odd reason they skip the 1.6L
So.... I'm not sure what to say as I'm not super familair with these engines yet ( I bought a lanos but I haven't been able to pick it up yet.... 3000miles away)
One good thing is the part number on the side....looks like.... 96253580.
I will see what I can dig up.

thats a very strange TB you got their... doesn't look anything like the TBs i have seen on the 1.6 engines... anyways their should be an IAC somewere, i know the TPS is always on one side of the butterfly axel and the IAC is somwhere in the tp side of the TB... maybe in your case it is on the bottom area or facing the ground so that yuo can't see it.
follow the wiring to the TB, one will lead to the TPS and the other to the AIC for sure, or you can remove the TB off the intake for a real throuought search process.
