Front and Rear Strut bars

Post by Bringrice »

Ok so im taking groceries out of my hatchback, its hot as hell here...at least 108, sweat is dripping in my trunk. Anyways, I notice the rear strut adapters mounted in the back and im thinking to myself, "Lets put this thing to work". However, the only company that makes them is Daewootech.net and they are sold out.

Is it possible to get some type of....universal rear and strut bar or does anyone know which bars would fit our cars?

Are you talking about the front sturt bar from an accent will fit the lanos, or the rear?!? I think bringrice is looking for the rear.

Does the rear strut bar mount to the top of the rear strut towers in the same way that the front one does? Or does it mount under the car somewhere?

I'm going to have a good look at my car & see about fabricating rear strut bars. If they are not hard to make, and I see a noticable improvement, I'll make several more bars & post them for sale.

Yes, the rear strut bar mounts on the top of the rear strut tower. The one that mounts under the car is a rear tie bar. We won't need a rear tie bar because the way the Lanos suspension is made.

With my speaker box, I can not mount a rear strut bar!
My box is 34" wide, 18" tall & 18" front to back. It has an internal air volume of 5.2 cubic feet (147.5 liters) so almost my whole hatch area is filled with a 75 pound speaker box (that is the weight of the box with no speaker). The box with the 42 pound speaker is a 117 pounds. This does not include the amp rack & amplifiers that are in there. :D

So ... I can make a rear strut bar, but I can't use it unless I take out my box or build a different box.

I might put one in my fiance's Lanos, though. I'm sure she's like it in her car. She wants to get the lowering springs & a front strut bar for her car, too.

rear strut bar

Post by azazel19 »

i thought the rear had shocks and they aren't mounted the same way the front is the only way would to mount a bar under the shock bolts and i don't know how much stability that would give you seems it would cause the shocks to deflect or maybe bend the mounts. but maybe i'm wrong. shed some light please.

That's what I thought too, but I called last week and they said they only carry the front.

They carry a full line of bars for other cars, not Daewoos.
