Today I called some turbo expert Yiyito Turbo here in PR

I was asking for a Turbo for my car

He says he advices me to use a T25 or T28 on my 2.2L Auto Tranny Nubira

And i Say DOesnt THat Spool too fast ? would it make good power ? it is a 2.2 engine

He answered:

Thats good, I have a 2.0L 8v SOHC Turbo Cavalier, same block as yours but different head

using a T28 turbo @ 22psi with over 400hp

he didnt mention the other mods it may have

i believe him i had seing other projects of his in the track running really fast

so it is between the T28 or the T3/T4 hybrid

That engine sounds similar to the C20GET we have here on the mainland... and the T28 would be a good choice... a GT28RS would be even better (but expensive)

a bit off topic but i got to ask: lag is not that big issue on an Auto tranny car... right?

I dont know if I'd want turbo lag in an a/t. I guess it depends what you're doing with the car though.

I know tons of people won't even go turbo cuz they still beleive they lag too much.

well in some oem turbocharged cars the manual tranny has a bigger turbo than the auto tranny

i think in HMT they had a turbo list and some specyfied auto or manual tranny

the gears in a automatic transmission are longer maybe thats why they use a smaller turbo

for fast spooling and moving the gears faster

if you get a stall converter that is slightly higher then the rpms that the car spools at you wont have any lag.

LOL wont go turbo because it'll lag too much :?

What's the alternative? Stay NA and have an ENITRE rev range full of lag?

Spose you could supercharge but turbo is so much easier and less limitations/drag of a supercharger.

Turbo for teh win! 8)

it is tempteng indeed but yoiu know i won't be keeping the woo for long so...

also if i got a brand new car (another lanos or an aveo) then i have to wait till the warranty expires before i can touch the engine... still the idea is always their and won't fade away.
