Unfortunately, my lanos's timing system went down and ruined the engine.
I don't have enough money to buy another car and I alos don't have enought money to send it to a mechanic shop.
What I can do is to fix it by myself. Fortunately, I have a friend, who used to be a mechanic.
I ordered a used cylinder head ,gasket set and timing belt set.
My question is after I put everything back. Do I have to put the top timing-belt cover back?
I think the rear and bottom cover is necessay to avoid some trash from ground.
the timing system is so weak. I wish I can check it easily by leaving some space.
about the lanos time-belt cover

the cover is a must... it is too dangerous to run the engine without one.

a rock could come up from the ground and eat the heck outta the belt or cause the belt to come off of your waterpump and permanetly damage your engine. Or cause you to have to replce your valves from a missing or broken timming belt at the least.
other cars have covers for just that reason, and i think it is a safeguard to keep your fingers intact, if you heve to work under the hood by any chance...
