Lanos Engine building question

I have a 2000 Lanos . Engine family ydwxvo1.6do1,1598cc,97.5 CID. I would like to know from anybody that builds these engines what I can do to make this engine stronger,faster,better etc. Also need to know where I can get parts? I'm in the USA. THANKS
