ecu question

Post by woo »

yeaterday i was doing a little work on my girlfriends 89/90 N13 1.8l pulsar, and when i decided to have a look at the computer, it had a GM sticker on it. The plugs look like those of a lanos, one long, one short. It doesnt plug in to a leganza (2 long plugs) but it would be interesting for someone to try it in a lanos. Anyways, after adjusting the throttle cable i took the 79kw (maybe more, it has 8mm leads) for a spin, and i was surprised, the thing up and goes like no tomorrow, when it used to be slow, now its quicker then my woo. Its not a heavy car either (1055kgs and its auto)

ever thought it was the 1.8 bit that makes it faster rather than the ECU bit?

Not sure about the 1.8L Camira but i know the 2L EFI Camira engine uses a Delco ECU. 1.5L SOHC Lanos has GM Delco ECU too im pretty sure.
The plugs are the same, but they're pinned differently...

I was looking at a Haltech GM PlugIn replacement ECU for the Camira Delco ECUs because it looked the same as the lanos, but in the wiring diagrams all the sensors were in different spots.
