Water leak on Lanos SOHC engine

Hi all, I think I have a small water leak on my Lanos SOHC engine but I am not sure exactly where it is leaking. If I switch off the engine when it is hot I can hear and see the water spitting and bubbling out somewhere around the middle section of the inlet manifold gasket (between cylinders 2 & 3). Does the inlet manifold gasket also seal water or is it leaking from another part of the engine? A while back I did have a new camshaft fitted so I'm wondering if something was not fitted correctly.

If the colour of the coolant looks normal and there is no milky look to the oil then i wouldn't think it'd be a headgasket leak.

Im more inclined to think it'd be a crack in your throttle body coolant hoses or your water pump hose? Check them for cracks/tears first up.

Thanks Tim. Yes the water looks clear. It seems to be spitting out under pressure from the cooling system when the engine is hot. I thought about the headgasket but this looks like it's coming above the headgasket. I will have another look but I don't think it's leaking from any pipes and looks more like it's coming from the engine block. You can see the water spitting out around the middle section of the engine block between cyl 2 & 3 where the inlet manifold joins. If you look down where the EGR valve is fitted you can see water starting to collect in the hollow recess in the middle of the inlet manifold between 2 & 3. If I can I will try and post a pic.

well... i don't think their is any coolant passages in this area of the intake, only coolant passage is at cyl. #1.

i know the place you discribed and i want to ask two things:

1- are you sure the accumilated fluid is coolant? i meani t could be resedues of anything else spilled during the cam replacment job and it just boils when the engine is hot enough.

2- are you loosing any coolant? if your diagnosis is correct then you should be

i suggest a throughout cleanup to the mentioned area so that it is bone dry, start the engine till the cooling fans kick in, as soon as they - the fans - start; turn off the engine and watch that area for leaks, hissing sounds and all.
